Whereas he’s nowadays one of the rising figures in the fashion industry, Victor Weinsanto set off at a very early age to pursue a career in ballet, notably dancing at the John Cranko Schule in Stuttgart. Aged 17, he discovered his passion for fashion and returned to his native Alsace before enrolling at the Atelier Chardon Savard School in Paris. Throughout his studies, he completed a series of internships with top fashion brands, culminating in a two-year period working hand-in-hand with Jean-Paul Gaultier. In 2020, the young designer launched his eponymous brand, thus adopting the name of his maternal grandmother (Weinsanto) to trade in his legal name (Brunstein). Quintessentially theatrical, his signature style is unmistakable by now. Imbued with cabaret codes and dramatic props, Weinsanto’s fashion reflects not only his commitment to the queer community but also his training in dance and impeccable mastery of lace, corsetry and volumes.
