Valérie Maltaverne is the founder and creative director of the Parisien art-furniture studio YMER&MALTA. Valérie develops and pushes forward French traditional savoir-faire (know-how) giving them an innovative momentum by creating exceptional tailor-made pieces, as well as limited and numbered editions, where contemporary design meets innovation and highly skilled craftsmanship, all made in France. Maltaverne’s work is highly acknowledged by museums and institutions. Her three most recent collections were commissioned by The Noguchi Museum in New York, the Cité Internationale de la Tapisserie in Aubusson and the Mobilier national. Sixty-three of her pieces were featured in museum exhibitions and twenty-six were acquired for their permanent collections. As an endorsement of her considerable work and her commitment to French craftsmanship, Valérie Maltaverne was appointed “Chevalier des Arts et des Lettres” in 2020, by the French minister of culture, Franck Riester.
