Born in New York City in 1975, Jordan Roth owes his early exposure to the arts through his mother, a renowned theater producer, who laid the foundation for his illustrious career. After graduating from Princeton University and earning an MBA from Columbia Business School, he dived into the theatrical world, producing innovative productions that blended elements of theater, disco, and nightlife. His 1999 production of The Donkey Show, an interactive adaptation of A Midsummer Night’s Dream, became a long-running off-Broadway hit and a testament to Roth’s visionary approach. In 2005, he joined Jujamcyn Theaters, rising to the position of president in 2009 and eventually becoming the company’s majority shareholder. Under his leadership, Jujamcyn has been home to a string of acclaimed productions, including the Tony Award-winning The Book of Mormon and Hadestown. Roth’s passion for fashion and performance has also gained him recognition as a prominent figure in the haute couture world. He has collaborated with acclaimed designers such as Clare Waight Keller, Iris van Herpen, and Rahul Mishra, blurring the lines between fashion, art, and theater. In 2023, Roth’s company, ATG Entertainment, merged with Jujamcyn, further solidifying his position as a powerful creative force in the industry. Jordan Roth’s dedication to philanthropy and advocacy for LGBTQ+ rights has also earned him accolades, including the HRC Legacy Award from the Human Rights Campaign.
