Acclaimed actress Alba Rohrwacher has made a remarkable impact on the international cinema landscape. In the 2010s, she started to make a name for herself with her roles in films such as Luca Guadagnino’s I Am Love (2009), Saverio Costanzo’s The Solitude of Prime Numbers (2010), Marco Bellocchio’s Dormant Beauty (2012) and Laura Bispuri’s Sworn Virgin (2015). Working alongside esteemed directors such as Arnaud Desplechin, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Stéphane Brizé, Pablo Larraín, Noah Baumbach, and Isabel Coixet, her impressive body of work has earned her numerous accolades, including a Coppa Volpi at the Venice Film Festival and a Marc’Aurelio d’Oro at the Rome Film Fest. Her strong cinematic presence has made her a regular fixture at the Cannes Film Festival, where she has presented several films in the main competition, including her sister Alice Rohrwacher’s award-winning works The Wonders (Grand Prix 2014) and Happy as Lazzaro (Award for Best Screenplay ex-aequo 2018). In 2025, Rohrwacher served as a member of the Jury at the 78th Cannes Film Festival, presided over by French actress Juliette Binoche.
