Jonathan Anderson (born 17 September 1984 in Magherafelt, Northern Ireland) is a trailblazing fashion designer celebrated for his intellectual, boundary-defying creations. After studying costume and design at the London College of Fashion, he launched JW Anderson in 2008, earning early acclaim for blending unconventional craftsmanship with gender-fluid silhouettes. His eponymous label caught the eye of LVMH, which took a minority stake in 2013 .
That same year, Anderson became creative director of Loewe, transforming the Spanish house into a global powerhouse. Under his leadership, Loewe’s annual revenues reportedly increased fivefold during his decade-long tenure. His designs—marked by whimsical accessories like cracked-egg heels, the viral Puzzle bag, and the famed red leather corset worn by Rihanna at the 2023 Super Bowl—blur the boundaries between art, culture, and fashion.
In April 2025, Anderson took charge of Dior Men, succeeding Kim Jones. Then, in June 2025, he made history by being appointed sole creative director of Christian Dior—overseeing women’s, men’s, couture, and accessories—which marks a first since the founder, Christian Dior himself.
